El Halma fue inventado en 1883 por un cirujano estadounidense llamado George Howard Monkses. El tablero en el que se juega tiene 256 casillas (16x16), aunque es más normal el uso de tableros mas pequeños (8x8). Es un juego muy rápido y esta es la forma de jugar:
Se colocan 32 fichas de cada color en las esquinas, y hay que llevar todas tus fichas a las esquinas opuestas. La “Estrategia a seguir” es bloquear las fichas del contrario para que tenga que dar un mayor rodeo. . . aunque sin olvidar tu objetivo.
Las fichas pueden saltar por encima de cualquier otra ficha, pero únicamente pueden hacerlo si la casilla de destino esta libre(como en las damas), es decir; no pueden saltar 3 fichas a la vez! . Aunque existe la posibilidad de hacer un salto múltiple, esto es que pueden saltar sobre varias fichas de igual(o distinto) color en un único movimiento. . .
Las fichas se pueden mover en cualquier dirección pero solo una casilla, excepto cuando saltan, que serian 2. . . o excepto cuando sea un salto múltiple, que dependería de cuantas fichas salta. (PUF! Que difícil es explicar las reglas de un juego escribiéndolas eh? Jejeje)
Actualmente existen versiones de 4 jugadores, y así se hace más interesante el juego. . .
